Somatic Psychotherapy Workshops

This series of somatic psychotherapy workshops creates a space for therapists to experiment, explore and practice a more holistic approach to relationships with others, specifically in the context of the therapeutic process.

The experiential element focuses on the connection with our body language – the holder of our unconscious – so that we can access our feelings, emotions, memories, beliefs, impulses, narratives and behaviours. These tell our story and design our initial roadmap for transformation and expansion.

The aim is to develop greater familiarity with somatic communication in its various dimensions, either in the therapist or in the client through the therapeutic relationship and to add new, valuable ingredients that can be used in therapeutic sessions. A therapist will be much better able to make progress with the client if they are exploring their own issues to the same degree.

There will be various somatic psychotherapy workshops, each with a different focus. Each session will be independent from the others so they can be attended freely.

The method used is mainly experiential since it is based on the psychotherapeutic approaches of Hakomi – Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy, Somatic Experiencing, Compassionate Inquiry and Psychosynthesis.

The work is developed through individual and group proposals, which involve sharing as an integral part of the process.

TESTIMONIALS

‘I have already attended several of Rossana’s sessions, but this Somatic Psychotherapy Lab was totally transformational for me. In just one weekend, I was able to delve into various issues. It was very practical, allowing us to experience, feel and share. It had the right balance between theory and practice, allowing us to assimilate what we had learned and to naturally surrender to the process. I highly recommend this experience!’

Andre Costa

‘In the Somatic Psychotherapy Lab with Rossana I found:

• CONTINUOUS STUDY with the most recent findings in this field.
• TECHNIQUES AND TOOLS which give me structure, confidence and trust that I would know what to do in a therapeutic process.
• DEVELOPMENT OF HUMAN QUALITIES that allow me to feel okay, even if I’m not sure what to do during a therapy session.
• SPACE TO TAKE RISKS and try things out in a safe environment with the support of someone who is a role model for me, both as a person and a professional.’

António Lopes

‘Rossana’s workshops are always top notch! I really enjoy the sessions and can’t wait for the next one! This is thanks to the combination of top-quality participants and Rossana’s refined sensitivity in the way she guides both the individual and the group as a whole in an inductive way, from carefully chosen experiences.’

João Delicado

‘Rossana, with her vast experience, wisdom and humanness, not only brings precious knowledge and guidance, but also a safe, authentic space, where I was not only a therapist but a human being. After this experience, I feel I have much more to give, not only to myself but also to the people I work with.’

Margarida Cancela

‘Rossana’s workshops are practical and just lovely! She is a very knowledgeable and gentle trainer, and she’s not afraid to show her own vulnerability. I always feel very safe, which helps me to learn. I always take away learning that has a real impact on my clinical practice and my life.’

Rodrigo Dias

‘In the space created by Rossana we can trust, open up, see, be seen, feel and welcome our own experiences and those of others. We can experiment, make mistakes, get it right, learn and teach, guided by the wisdom of someone who knows how to share what she knows. I felt very stirred up after the training but, without a doubt, much more confident.

Rui Branco

‘I love participating in these workshops because Rossana has a very human and sensitive vision of people and their stories. Her sensitivity makes me feel warm and comfortable.’
